LAVA started from ground zero with no fancy equipment or rich investors in Southern California. Frustrated with the lack of high quality craft cocktail mixers available in the market and only able to find heavily processed mixers in their liquor store, LAVA was born. It started in a garage with rented U-Haul trucks for deliveries and recipes scribbled in a notepad. After about 18 months of perfecting the formulas, LAVA was ready to change the craft cocktail category forever.
LAVA really is all about great tasting cocktail mixers, quality ingredients, diverse flavors and providing value. They offer a wide range of flavors from Strawberry Margarita, Blood Mary, Skinny Margarita, Michelada, Sweet and Sour and more.
In this review we focused on the Spicy Watermelon, Spicy Jalapeno Margarita and Spicy Moscow Mule craft cocktail mixers.
Spicy Watermelon Mixer
So refreshing... That is exactly the thought as we were tasting the LAVA Spicy Watermelon Mixer. We decided to use tequila but it is so versatile that you could mix it with vodka, rum or just club soda. The most prominent flavor is watermelon and then you get the spicy kick from the habanero with a hint of cayenne. The secret to this mixer is that the watermelon flavor profile comes across as really fresh and is not watered down by the other mixer ingredients or liquor. Definitely no artificial watermelon taste like you might find in most other mixers that try this flavor. Overall, it is very tasty and refreshing without being too spicy. This LAVA craft cocktail mixer is very versatile and will satisfy most at-home cocktailers, especially if you love watermelon.

Spicy Jalapeno Margarita Mixer
We love our spicy cocktails here at Cocktailbro. So it was very exciting to try the LAVA Spicy Jalapeno Margarita Mixer. We busted out our favorite tequila (always use a good one) and mixed according to the recommendation. Wow, it was near perfection. The mellow spiciness from the jalapenos was nicely balanced with the agave nectar and exactly what we had hoped for. It was a craft margarita that was just right, with tons of flavor and without being too spicy or too sweet. The only downside is that you have use the mixer relatively quickly for peak flavor because of all the natural ingredients. But we don't see that being an issue with LAVA mixers. If you like spicy margaritas you need to try this one.

Spicy Moscow Mule Mixer
Moscow Mules are not for everybody, but they should be. The LAVA Spicy Moscow Mule Mixer is their take on the classic cocktail. Like all craft cocktails make sure to use your best spirits when mixing, in this case we added a great vodka. The flavor profile is very much what you want in a classic Moscow Mule mixer; LAVA has really nailed it. I recommend adding spicy to the product name because that is exactly right, the ginger kick is perfectly prominent with the reassuring tickle in your throat that ginger is known for. It definitely has more of a kick and much better flavor than just mixing vodka with a ginger beer. If you love Moscow Mules and want to turn up the spicy a bit then you won't go wrong with this one. Highly recommended.

LAVA craft cocktail mixers are awesome and should be at the top of every cocktailers list. The LAVA products are some of the best in the market and I think you would have a hard time finding better tasting mixers. The flavors are exactly what you would expect with top quality ingredients and great value. LAVA has also has such a wide selection of flavors that there is something for everyone. They are one of our favorite brands and your are missing out if you have not tried them yet. We highly recommend trying LAVA Cocktail Mixers in your at-home craft cocktails.
